Battle memory #1

On a hilltop
Covered with corn
It slowly dances with the wind
Only three men and four trees are marked against the sky
The stars and moon light up enough for my sight

They stand
Waiting for me to make the first move
But I won't
They will have to
Otherwise I won't be able to play my trump-card
Which is my only salvation this night

I unsheeth my only friend at the moment
I get in position
Slowly sliding my feet on the dirt
They already made their move
Two of them are running while the other jumped into the air
The first one slashes
I block
Turn around him and hit him on te back of his head

The other one stood still
Dashes forward
I side-step and beat his weapon into the ground
At that moment I hear a whistling sound
I duck and avoid the little objects
Hiding behind a tree
I wait
Restructuring my plan
When I want to have another look
They are gone
Except the first
He's dead

Again I lean against the tree
I hear a twig break above me
Leaping forward and turning around
It's the other two

I lay low to the ground
The grass is still waving in the wind
But I hear something else moving aswell
I turn around with a slash
Number two falls apart into two pieces
Now what do I do??

Quickly I turn around
Dash forward and slice
I hear the sound of metal clashing
Now it's time for the retry of the attack
Just before the counter-attack fals in
With a fast turn a chop at his neck
A black ball comes loose of the rest
Followed by a loud thud
And there after a body collapses

I gather the bodies
Lay them down under a tree
Followed by a small ceremony
I bury them as the samurai should
As I lie in the grass
Smoking
I just finsished my breakfast
And I clear up my stuff
It's time to go
The sun is slowly rising
It takes hours and hours before it's halfway up
That's different here
How the time elapses
