The heart hurts
When the words reach the mind
And when you realize what they mean
You have to start all over again
The courage you had before
Lost and faded into darkness
You can win it back
Stand up and look to the sky
See the blue that presents hope
You softly bite your lip
As you realize your feelings
They have changed
You know what to do now
And feel confident again
That is how the heartache turns numb
Still there but faded into the background
And finally there you are
Taking steps forward
No matter how small they are.
