populair?

My mind has spinned constantly about a certain topic I'm never sure about, here's an explanation:
OK society is divided into different ranks of popularity. I'm not quite sure how to define being POPULAR to those who aren't feelin me, but it has something to do with gaining RESPECT of those that are tough to convince. Even though this sounds quite superficial, I'm not trying to portray it as ;'who be the cutest person in town yada' n 'who can get the most hottest persons', jeez. BUT the additude and the looks play a big part in this...

'Cause while you live in society, you might feel like some person has a lack of .. IQ or EQ. You might find that certain person a dork, because of his way of doing. Or you might find him a dumbass because of his IQ level. you'll eventually place him 'underneath' you, as in.. finding him very uninteresting and simple to play a joke on.

And when you're impressed by someone, because of his or hers reaction, or his knowledge about a topic or because of his additude towards others, you'll place him in an higher standard, as in that you'll admire the person. That doesn't directly has to be connected with finding that person attractive.

When numberous people agree on the fact that one person has deserved the respect he gains, he is popular.
But what made the person gain so much respect? What is the exact additude of which that is soappealing?




As for me, I'm not struggling with the fact whether I'm 'populair' or not. I guess this crossed my mind several times this day, 'cause I was talking to someone I admire a while and talking to another one who I felt like he was a total dork at the very same time. Without really knowing, I'd place them both on a scale that arranged places of whom I liked and disliked.

At the end of the day, what do these judgementals lead to? The big question for me is, where am I placed.. or you?
