freedom of the press

it is quite clear politicians don't want an informed public but indoctrinated serfs
when politics limits the freedom of press by endangering the sources of journalists by tapping the emails
and phones of journalists even if only with meta data it is a threat to the sources and journalists and the public.
because if they feel unsafe to work, a source to give information, a journalist to write and print a story and eventually the public not being able to read or hear the story, democratic choices can not be made !
again here in this freedom of speech and freedom of press situation, and again it is not the terrorist that make it impossible to maintain that freedom, but the lawmakers and politicians and the security apparatus that ignore
the freedom of speech for their own gains !
this does not help any one in the public nor any journalist to remain safe
it just creates more ignorance and stupidity
which in turn creates more friction within society and the different social groups.
please understand that there is no freedom when you seek security from government, because they seldom have given the people the means to secure them self from them !
(one known example is the city of kennesaw georgia http://www.city-data.com/city/Kennesaw-Georgia.html and a few other individual states in the USA thanks to the aware people and their knowledge of the bill of rights which they have to battle over reaching government but know they have very little power against the federal government because they just plain ignore the rules and laws)
