games

along the way i became to understand that games are a bit more than just that
whether it be games people play for entertainment or games people play with people
both have a similar function, entertainment ?
primarily maybe,
games are at first i guess manipulation if not from origin, surely it is now today and tomorrow

when people play games with each other as in on the expense of the other, it surely is manipulation
but even board games and computer games are not innocent of manipulation.
without people knowing games are tools to distract, in form of entertainment.
if you play or watch games you are not watching reality, and thus some one can do something unseen.
this might be far fetched but face it, it happens, doesn't it ?
then there is subliminal messaging, people can be brought to a certain mindset with games,
like kids who play war games who think war is cool or fun, how images of blood and gore can desensitize the mind to reality,

they can make you accept things, even if not clear to the mind in most part, but monopoly for example claims the bank can not go broke, so when there is a new bank bailout you think it is good, the game must continue, no ?
this is not that far fetched it only becomes clear until you are deep in doodoo

then you have to ask why the US military uses xbox like controllers to fly drones and kill people with them, it looks like a freaking game but it is real.

then there is the dehumanization with the popular zombie theme,
people who play them learn a few lessons, some handy some gruesome and inhumane
which when you look at it show in how some real riots play out.

a few things you will find in a lot of games which have violence in them is the black and white enemy figure
there is no shade of gray in there, it is eighter good or bad, and even in real war this is NOT the case.
this is what they want you to believe. people are manipulated.

certain norms are broken with games,
especially when you are familiar with the art of war and the geneva convention there is no respect for the human which is your enemy, and without respect for the enemy one will find that you end up being the bad guy, even if you win.
this might not come clear until you are of age or understand the importance of having respect for the enemy.

people play games
but what are they doing ?
passing time ?
escaping reality ?
relaxing ?
all can be fair excuses, but in all that what have you learned ?

movies and music are not much different
maybe those go even deeper
but that is another topic.

yes i do play games
but i sadly am less able to enjoy them as days pass and my knowledge grows.
