sometimes things get lost
things are taken
memories tend to have the same effect
they get lost
or are taken
my life is but a shadow of my dream
and my dream has been taken
so here i am
lost and empty
and have nothing to show for
i never like to take
i never wanted to take
and when i took
i lost more than i should
you are just a dream
taken in a day
i can sometimes recall you
when you show little things
that no one understands
then you give
something you have not taken
but still it's lost
and you are like a dream
one day
i can only hope for one day
so that i can explain
what could have been
